My sociology professors mention repeatedly that the word "homosexual" is offensive because it's a clinical term, rather than an identity term. Aside from that, the use of the word is automatically associated with the anti-gay movement (at least in America).
And from my experience viewing the websites of different LGBT organizations, the word is very rarely utilized by pro-gay groups.
It definitely has a negative conotation, at least from a sociological perspective.
Depends how u say it if it's like ''oh you're a homossexual, that's so nice" so no prob but if you say "oh u're a homo, ewww get away from me" so it's wrong
