If any company is popular amongst the poor it's Samsung since their phones range from tacky-and-cheap to tacky-cheap-and-expensive

And many people buy iPhones at full price since that allows them to buy the new one each year. I paid $900+ for my 6 Plus. Apple's incredibly high resale value allows us to sell our previous one and buy the next for $100 out of our pocket, max! so sad that your $1000+ brick will be worth half that in a year! Exponentially depreciating mess!

Now that I think of it, even Microsoft/Lumia products have high resale value because our ecosystem is so niche that everyone in the fanbase is willing to pay good amount of money - since they are extremely hard to find at times. I see first generation Surface Pro 1s still selling for $400 3 years after its production.
