I loved those looks too
August 2013 - November 2014 fashion wise
Fixed.
Actually, now that we're on this topic, there are very few Gaga looks from her entire career that I actually don't like. Indeed, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is the meat dress, but that's because of moral dilemmas rather than petty aesthetic reasoning. (And even then, a small part of me will always have a soft spot for it because of the iconic nature of it.) I feel like y'all drag her for her looks way, way too much. Just my two cents.
I hadn't seen this before! This was from a Nov 24 afterparty in Paris celebrating the conclusion of the artRAVE. It's funny - I think there were like 4 occasions where she went out after the shows either wearing the tour outfits herself or making all the dancers come out in their Venus costumes.
First time that I'm seeing this intro, you guys have seen this before?
00:00 till 04:48
That's from those Robert Wilson portraits she shot that were in the Louvre and I think now are being shown in NYC (?). They were shot the night before that interview where Gaga had the long pause.
I don't think it was used before the show until the stream, to entertain the Yahoo! watchers. Obvs I didn't see this pre-show part live, but I feel like trap music made the waiting way more fun in Melbs. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing fan recorded videos of it being shown at other European dates. I wish to god she had played them at my date. They would have been so, so amazing to see live. But to be honest I'm just so grateful we got professional footage of both them and the concert itself, even if it takes up 44GB on my hard drive.
It's funny how she added a few elements for the final 4 shows - namely the robert wilson pre-show and backup vocalists. I loved the idea of it but you can barely hear them in the mix, and judging from what we could hear, Gaga had them doing some rather dissonant harmonies.

Guess which artist Gaga wants to work with Start from 1:40 (btw, the video was just posted weeks ago despite being recorded back in 2013 )
ARTPOP and it's potential
I adore this interview and, although I'm sure I'm alone in this opinion, the look as well. It's not "beautiful" or "pretty" as defined by society, but rather it's defined by the themes she was trying to share with the album, in this case, her take on the goddess Venus. (Who is ironically the goddess of, among other things, beauty. I get the feeling that Gaga was using these "ugly" looks to try and challenge the notion of beauty through the medium of the goddess of love and beauty. (I'm gonna go ahead and say it didn't work seeing the reactions of her own fanbase.))

She's been doing that since Born This Way, well if that's the case
