I can't even deal with the people that didn't read the article.
She said, she NEVER had Anorexia, but she tried not eating for one day to see what it was like.
A lot of girls do this. One girl at my work today hadn't eaten all day, and was deciding whether she would eat a Kiwi fruit or not because she was hungry, but didn't want to eat.
It happens. The ones you make fun of are the ones that actually end up with the disorder. Someone with an eating disorder doesn't just stop eating. The early symptoms are trying to go without eating for long periods of time. They don't have the disorder yet, but they are experiencing early symptoms.
Similarly, people that try to avoid crowds around friends often show early signs of social anxiety.
Or people who lack motivation to get up in the morning have early signs of depression.
They all start somewhere. It may sound stupid, but this is how eating disorders start. With actions that make you think "urgh disgusting she would say/do that".
I know for one, when I was depressed and no one noticed I would play it up because I seemed to "happy" when I would try to talk to people about it.
