The most risky full-blown pop girl eras that decade have been Bionic, Born This Way & ARTPOP. I'll give the official title to Bionic, though. X totally went left-field from the sound of B2B & went in the complete opposite direction. Nothing on the album catered to any trends in 2010 pop music, and it's truly her most polarizing body of work to date.
Speak Now wasn't a risk at all. While it's impressive she wrote it mostly by herself, the album was pretty much like what she'd already been doing before w/ Fearless & her self-titled. Her most "risky" album to date is 1989, given its abandonment of her original identifier (country).... but even then, the pop music she does is super commercial & made to be easily accessible.
One of them for sure. She was coming off of a big breakthrough era and there was a lot riding on this album....instead of going a safe route and collaborating with big Country writers and producers, she wrote all the songs entirely by herself and worked with one producer who produced her earlier stuff.

Lol Bionic was a shameless attempt to capitalize on the Gaga electropop trend of 2009/2010. People saw through it and that's why it failed.
