I've always assumed that like any place, Latin America has it's areas and people that are nice, and not so nice.

I will say though that I went to Santiago Chile one time on a school trip and the city overall was nicer, more beautiful, and more well-kept than my hometown of LA. If all things were equal, I would choose to live there over LA anyday.

At least in my country, there's a really low percentage of black people (Like 0.01). We are a mix between Europeans and Native Americans. That genre was born in the african-american culture, so in my country at least, there are no people who can be an exponent of that type of music and make it popular. :/

My partner is from Brazil and I visited Brazil twice once in 2008 and then in 2011. I could really see the difference. The country is booming and people are getting richer.Things are not perfect but I think the area is defo on the up.
