Minorities are responsible for a significant portion of the entertainment our society consumes on a daily basis. But the reality is that minorities will rarely ever get the chance to be the representative of their own art and creations because the entertainment industry in America is built to benefit and appeal to whites. POC are often left to work behind the camera because a white face sells better.
And before anyone chimes in again with a ridiculous list of popular poc actors/singers/directors/etc playing stereotypes and leading animated films that came out over a decade ago, just realize that even if you could list 50 "famous" colored people, it's literally equivalent to a teardrop in an ocean of white faces in Hollywood. You can miss me with that bs.
