Ugh...the production is so bad. It's so overproduced. I feel like this song would have been amazing before Kanye came on board. I love Kanye, but lately he's trying to hard to be different that he doesn't even care if it's good.
His rework of 'Yellow Flicker Beat' and 'Illuminati' completely ruined the songs. Thankfully, the official YFB version was still out, and the demo of 'Illuminati' had leaked. However we'll never find out what 'American Oxygen' sounded like beforehand.
This song songs like it should have a melody, and all you hear is these clashing electronic drums and "warp warp warp warp warp warp." There's no structure. No ****ing wonder she and her band ****ed it up live. How are you supposed to remember how the next bit goes when there's no melody or structure? Just "oh hey guys, here's another random sound that I've introduced on the beat"
Whatever. It'll make for great remixes. Better not be a single though.
