It's really alarming how much diversity is lacking in the entertainment industry. It's something that we're going to have work hard to improve in the future. Shows with diverse casts are almost always >>>>, anyway.

Shows that are about a family like Arrested Development are okay to not have black people since there are lots of entirely white families irl but there's really no excuse to not have black people in shows that are about friends, like How I Met Your Mother.

Blackish and Empire are making strides for us . Not to mention Scandal and HTGAWM have black female leads ...

If the main character is a family, they will obviously be of the same race.
Also, PoC are a minority IRL, so it is only natural that they are a minority in the shows (see it is usually 1/5).

Wait. Not there being a show called "masters of Sex" having ONLY white people in the lead roles. The absolute and utter lies. More like slave masters of sex tbh.

Gay people and British people are minorities in the US too, but there's a disproportionate number of gay characters and characters with British accents on American television.

And I don't agree with that Deadline writer about minorities having so many roles but this BuzzFeed article is as stupid as that Deadline article. The people on Indiewire wrote better arguments about this issue.
