All of them, Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, Taylor, Nicki etc. are chart obsessed. They all wants #1s and want to outdo each other and thats a FACT.
Except for maybe Beyonce & Britney...all the major Pop girls closely watch their positions on the charts.
Some are more open about it than the others but still.
Rihanna is definitely not chart obsessed, she could be at about 20 #1s in the UK and US if she was obsessed, so many of her songs peaked in the top 3 because she didn't feel the need to promo them or put them on streaming sites etc

Lol. Katy or Rih are FAR from being obsessed. Katy just does some promo and I don't remember her talking about the charts. Rihanna doesn't even promote her music. She gave ONE performance to her lead single and usualy she stops caring after the 3rd single

Katy was so desperate to break the record of most #1 singles from an album, which is undeniable. This is coming from a Katy fan.
Well it's obvious that she cares about that stuff if you just watch her career up until this point.
That said, if I were him, I'd not want to be around somebody who tells me this stuff, it'd get on my nerves after a while.

And Ed Sheeran also loves his success, i bet. He has sold over 5 Million copies of X and said his dream was to play at the Wembley Stadium in the UK! (which he already did / is going to do with his Multiply Tour)
By the way, Madonna didnt become the Queen of pop by not caring about charts. All of the big artists care about charts in some way or another, or at least did at some point in their career!

There is literally nothing wrong with her setting goals for herself. Maybe if some of you tried it every once and awhile. you wouldn't see a problem with this...
