Kanye and Paul don't sell singles, so noone expected FFS to get a sales boost because of them. Period.
You hearing a random club remix has NOTHING to do with the original song being a party pop song
HOME songs have nothing to do with R8 and there's nothing wrong with 2 singles before album release
There was no buzz for the HOME songs. She just waited until the HOME promo was over so that she would have time to commit to her actual singles. That's not strategic, that's just obvious.

Dead market? What are you talking about? Many HIT songs have no trouble selling 4, 5, even 6 million copies from the last two years alone.
Even ignoring Kanye and Paul's involvement, their name at worst provided no boost, it didn't detract from it. The song underperformed for a Rihanna lead single.
#2 Pon De Replay
#1 SOS
#1 Umbrella
#9 Russian Roulette (underperformance)
#1 Only Girl
#1 We Found Love
#1 Diamonds
#4 FourFiveSeconds (underperformance)
The song isn't some indie folk song. Period. It's about getting drunk, going to jail, having a crazy weekend before going back to work on Monday. It's a song that's supposed to be relatable to the average person who works all week and has fun on the weekend.
Home buzz is buzz regardless. People were talking about Rihanna and her songs and how it coincided with the R8 era.
2-3 singles before album release is promo. Singles are meant to promote the album. Performances are not the only kind of promo an album or single can have. I was simply correcting you when you were trying to act like R8 era has had little promo.
It's obviously strategic when she's dropping her collab with Kanye and Paul just after their own collab is released, and then waits until the Home EP is out before quickly releasing a new song to get all of the attention back on her. It's purely strategy and a good marketing technique.
