Seriously, Apple need to re-think their pricing. Surely, they aren't this dumb.

So in Australia, you can get the MacBook Pro Retina 13" with the new Force Touch Trackpad, and new Keyboard. Comes with a 720 HD Webcam, Core i5 Processor, 128GB Flash and all the ports for $1799.

The new MacBook is also $1799 and the only improvement is that it comes with 256GB of Flash Storage, and is slightly lighter. The webcam is standard definition, the processor is a Mobile processor and the RAM on both is 8GB.

Do they really think people would pay the price for the MacBook when the MacBook Pro is sitting there,with a proper processor and the only downside being it has slightly less storage but has room for a 128GB SD card which can be bought for like $50 on eBay?

I swear their pricing just isn't logical. The MacBook should be $999 in the US and $1299 in AUS.

No one is going to choose the MacBook as it is, and now the pricing is even more obscure. I just don't get it.

im sure there is some logic to their pricing - i mean it's apple they have some of the smartest corporate analyst working for them.

Too expensive when you could get the premium model for a much better price, and thats what people did. I guarantee next time Apple will either make it a much more powerful device or lower the price.

I mean, would you buy a product that can barely run Photoshop but has double the space, or buy a product that would be able to run Photoshop, play Video Games and do HD video editing etc. and all you would need to do would pay like $50 to upgrade the space.

I just can't see people flocking to it. And people know how much I support Apple. It just seems like a stupid move for the price.

people are dumb enough to buy their products even though they are overpriced to the heavens. why would they bring the prices down? I will admit I got an ipod touch 3 years ago but I haven't bought one since or even an iPhone. no way in hell would I pay over 1000 for a damn laptop.

What's going on with these companies and their ridiculous pricing. First the Surface 3 being priced at $800 for the whole bundle in Canada when it's just an underpowered atom netbook, then the new MacBook.

Terrible. Their products are amazing, don't get me wrong, but the pricing does seem painfully illogical for all of their products. Sorry.

I generally dislike their products, but I own an iPod. Just because I don't like listening to music on my smartphone. But that's that.
No iPhone, no iMac or Mac Book. I don't need them.

It's a joke that MacBooks are becoming more and more expensive for useless features. I bought mine 5 years ago, it has gotten me through some serious cardiac arrests, but at least it has a 500GB storage. Can't believe now they have 125 or something like that.
