Have you heard any theories about your favorite animated shows/films? share and discuss them here.
I saw a few that were convincing and others not so much. Either way it's interesting stuff on the web.
People have come up with random "Main character X fell into a coma and the whole show is really just an augmented reality in their comatose mind" for shows such as Simpsons and Pokemon which I don't really buy.
There was also the whole Rugrats theory where most of the babies are Angelica's imagination. Like how the twins aren't real - their mother is still pregnant but they don't know the gender so Angelica imagined them as twins etc
That the characters of Ed, Edd and Eddy are trapped in eternal purgatory.
What? I never heard of that one? can you go into detail?

The whole it was all dream theory kinda grates on my nerves as it feels like a cop out most of the time.
The Rugrats one is kinda sorta logical. But my theory on why Chuckies dad is always a nervous wreck is not because Chuckie died with his mother but on dealing with being a single father who might still be dealing with his wifes death.
Love the courage the cowardly dog one, also the Adventure Time being post-WW3 story is interesting.

Also your misuse for the term 'Theory' is misleading. Theories are statements proven to be true by facts, it's a common mistake made by the modern public so no worries. The correct term would be conspiracy or hypothesis, though. You're welcome.

Wasn't there one about Ash from Pokémon being trapped inside his mind or something that's why he's been 10 years old for so long.
considering how he's still in a childs body after all this time it would be best if they went that route. It's just the creators not making him grow up as they think he's just as iconic as Pikachu lol.
Aladdin‘s Genie and the salesman are the same person
Remember the frame narrative at the beginning of Aladdin? Well, some enterprising viewers on Reddit have noticed some alarming similarities between the salesman, trying to pawn off what we soon discover is actually the Genie’s lamp (or an identical one), and the Genie himself. Firstly, they’re both voiced by Robin Williams. Secondly, they both wear (or “wear”) blue with a red sash at the waist. They have the same facial hair — bushy eyebrows and a beard that ends in a little curl. But the clincher is this: they’re the only two characters in the film that have only four fingers. So the Genie got free and decided to sell trinkets? It’s not totally impossible. But as one Redditor says, “Go deeper, the Genie is the merchant, trying to sell himself.” Whoa.
The fairies in The Fairly Oddparents are metaphors for anti-depressants
According to a theory that comes, yet again, courtesy of Reddit, Timmy’s fairy godparents are simply metaphors for Zoloft and Prozac — they’re there to help him through his problems, but only until he doesn’t need them anymore. Plus, not only did they start showing up at the same time as his problems, but there are some serious side effects every time he abuses their “magic.”
