In a new interview with Vulture, T-Pain -- who said his new mixtape would feature previously unheard Aaliyah vocals, and then it didn't -- is claiming that Aaliyah's "final album" will be called Aaliyah X, that it's "full of collaborations and unheard vocals," and that it's coming "pretty soon, actually":



He also shared some details about this Aaliyah song, and revealed that he'll be finalizing it with the track's original producer:

So who else is ready for a new Aaliyah album, no matter how poorly assembled or conceived it'll (inevitably) turn out to be?

Ugh, it will be a bunch of random artists just including her vocals into the songs. But I'm excited nothing the less. Aaliyah is Aaliyah so I'm not complaining

Well if she can feature on a Chris Brown song I don't see why this couldn't happen... I'm excited for new Aaliyah music obviously but it isn't right unless her family supports it and Timbaland and Missy produce it. I'm not here for an album full of random rappers who were babies when she died

I'm here for the collabs to be worthy/talented artists, preferably people who were her friends/acquaintances. Not these loser newbies wanting to hop on the trap music scene.

I'm going to admit I loved both "Don't Think They Know" and "Enough Said" so if anything comes out as okay as those I'll be fine.

"Okay"? Aaliyah deserves the absolute best effort and from the people she knew in her life, not these randoms who hop on to make quick cash. There's a limit to her unreleased material, when it's gone, it's gone. I don't want that to happen until Timbaland, Missy etc. all contribute and do their best to make whatever little material they have into a fitting tribute to Aaliyah and have a record made out of love for her. "Okay" isn't gonna cut it.

Though it feels a little wrong to admit it, I actually kind of loved them, too. Then again, DTTK would have been a lot better without a certain... someone. Actually, you know what, both of them would've been better as solo Aaliyah tracks tbh.
