Promoting "helping artists" by showing that the 1 percenters wants to be richer instead of showing the new artists trying to pay their bills with making music without having a daytime job in a supermarket.

It's so out of touch with the 99%.
The label owners are supporting it because bigger revenue means more money to extract from artists with rip off deals.

Combined with no clear advantages for the customer. Slightly higher quality can't be heard
(unless you know how every instrument sounds in real versus recording, very technical details) or they are trying to get to audiophile market
(tiny niche). Audiophiles use higher quality standards as in they are above pop music.
The idea of being "premium" with just another streaming service gives me "An Audi suggests that you can't afford a Mercedes." teas
(It's still a Volkswagen under the hood.). Those wanting to spend a lot on music wants to have something they can touch, display the artwork, have a more engaging experience
(making time for putting the vinyl on the record player, putting the needle on it, touching the record...) and be really exclusive/different from those listening to music on smartphones.
