It has to do with the fact that Barbz are like "we can't compare Nicki with Gaga" yet before TPP literally 80% of the Barbz were certain it'd outsell ARTPOP so they were fine comparing the two.

Your point? Especially when the OP is including WW numbers.
Anyway, given the amount of promo by both Gaga and Nicki, respective genre differences, etc. Bey did great with her 4 promo slots over the course of a year. So really, she shouldn't be be compared to the other two.
To be fair I don't think ARTPOP singles have sold much more since then.
Applause kept selling 30-50k in the U.S. after Billboards March article and it was 2.45M at that time. It's safe to say it's around 2.8m or at 3m, with streaming it's already there.
And WW Applause was selling 80-100k a week, tracking from Kworb, the last known stats were around 5.2m back in October.
Woah. Didn't expect DWUW to have outsold Anaconda. :O :O :O Imagine if the era didn't get messy and it the ARTPOP era had more than 1 video. It would still be considered a flop here, but definitely better than what we have now. Beyonce didn't really sell much singles, but she sold a hell lot of albums.

If they wait to certify, I'm sure Applause can be certified 4x Platinum in the U.S.
Don't forget a promo spot on the biggest music even of the year; The Grammys for Drunk in Love. Then that long ass VMA's performance of THE ENTIRE ALBUM.
Yes. The entire album which ended up selling almost triple of what ARTPOP did in the US.
Please exit. The answer is this: One focuses on selling singles (yet only sold 500K more despite heavy promo) and the other focuses on selling albums.
That's it. As for Nicki; her era just started. She has a couple more singles lined up
I don't know. It's a mystery. Beyonce's the only big artist that comes to mind who couldn't push a 2M selling single with not just their past album but their past TWO albums.
