It could've been any group of rich celebrities and it would've received this backlash. It's just too easy to see this time that it's a cheap clone of a product that already exists. It doesn't add anything significant. And then to have all these powerful people endorse it as if they are saving the world, that's what is rubbing people the wrong way.
Yeah listening to Beyonce and Kanye talk about how it's revolutionary and changing the world was v. cringeworthy and showed just how out of touch they are. But then again I understand why they're so mad since getting paid a couple of grand for a song with 200 million streams is unfair & disgusting. I guess it's all down to execution, if they made it new artist centred and about fostering new talent instead of a big corporate circle jerk it'd be much better received.
Tidal is a farse. It won't give more money to the artists simply because the big part of the money will still go to the labels and one part to JayZ's pockets.
Don't make me link that article again, if only the mods didn't close my thread without any explanation
Marina put it best. If they included actual struggling artists then it would make more sense but just getting the top tier people to do it is a plain attempt to grab money and steal the game from spotify.
Even more importantly, they are doing nothing to preserve art or bring it to the front. Tidal has nothing to do with that, it's just a way for them to get paid more. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be properly compensated for your songs but passing it off as a holy crusade when it's just another streaming service that will help cannibalize digital sales is just
They want also to be able to sell more tickets, cause Tidal will include ticket sales at some point.
I really like the finale but it'll be hard to do something as substantial as S1 with it for the upcoming season. It definitely does not come as a surprise they took 2 years to start the production.

It became better. I really like the final scene. I feel like the finale kinda banalizes the whole season, I don't know if you get what I mean.
jay-z's comment about the $6 water totally reminded me of this
LOL yeah, that was the first thing I thought when I read his quotes. Only a priviledged person would think most people in the world could drink their water out of the tap and remain ALIVE.

In the sense that the mystery takes over the main focus of the show as opposed to the rest of the season? If so then I do which is also what I think will be next season's main problem.
It's always hard for mystery shows to juggle around between its drama and mystery elements without promising too much/disappointing viewers in the latter aspect.
