People are pissed because the whole "artists will get more money" thing is BS. The shareholders and people on Jay's label will get paid more. They have no idea if anyone else will get more because it's up to their label to decide how much of a cut they get on their streamed songs.

Marina put it best. If they included actual struggling artists then it would make more sense but just getting the top tier people to do it is a plain attempt to grab money and steal the game from spotify.

Even more importantly, they are doing nothing to preserve art or bring it to the front. Tidal has nothing to do with that, it's just a way for them to get paid more. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be properly compensated for your songs but passing it off as a holy crusade when it's just another streaming service that will help cannibalize digital sales is just
