I'm not sure. Often exceeded my expectations anyway, I remember thinking it wouldn't get in the top 100, but it did eventually and charted for a long time too. I think since Love Me Harder was smashing around the same time it helped Often. The song got decent rhythmic and urban airplay too, the only benefit I see coming from a re-release is that it might get pop airplay this time around. I hope The Weeknd sends his future singles to pop now.

Depending on what you consider "pure R&B", probably one of All Of Me, Happy or Blurred Lines.
LMLYD is better in my opinion.
