But what good is writing "better music" going to do when y'all aren't gonna pay for it regardless? And don't come with "oh if the music was better people would pay for it". No they wouldn't. Period. Also, bringing awareness to the abysmal payment rates from Spotify and Pandora hasn't helped in the past, so "bringing awareness to their cause" wouldn't do any good either.

The problem is that the GP just doesn't have respect for music and the hard work that goes into making it anymore. They've gotten too used to being able to get it for free, or unfairly cheap, due to free services like Spotify, Pandora, and tourrents. And that's completely devalued ALL music, regardless of the quality. The idea that "these people are already rich" is 100% moot, and I don't get why people keep trying to use that in their argument. Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Pink, Daft Punk, etc. are not the only ones who get paid from their music. This streaming war is more about the folks BEHIND those artists than it is about the artists themselves. And those people can barely make ends meet. Jay-Z and Taylor will be fine regardless.

I'm not saying TIDAL is the future or the right way to go, but the world needs to be taught slowly that music has value and that being a musician/songwriter/producer/composer is a JOB and a LIVELIHOOD just like any other job. You can't sit around and expect someone to perform a job for you and hand out their services for free with little to no compensation.

They're not slaves. This isn't the Roman times. Recording, releasing and performing music is their job and they deserve to be paid for it. Would you like a pay cut to your job? That's essentially what Spotify did to their revenue from album sales. So yes, they are entitled to be paid for their job...

Don't know why anyone cares. I've seen paragraphs of conversations and a dozen threads. Haven't you got anything better to do than talk about Tidal and its subscription fee. People out there DYING and y'all crying about $20. Get over it.

I hope TIDAL wins. Free streaming needs to go. If you can't afford to support your favorite artists by purchasing their music then you honestly have no say in ANY argument.

And at the end of the day yall worry more about what's in someone else's wallet than your own. Yall know how much is in these artists bank accounts instead of worrying about your own. And to say "they are already filthy rich" just comes off as underlying jealousy.

Why you mad they're successful and you're not? How can you ever expect to be successful worried about the next man/woman?

People out there are DYING with no food, water or electricity and these already rich artists are crying because they want to be richer. This whole campaign is fueled by greed and I just think it's disgusting.
