Like, whether one likes ARTPOP or not musically, the fact remains that one of its central themes was putting art in the front and putting power back into the hands of artists, rhetoric that is now apparently "revolutionary" to these artists doing Tidal but it was someting that got Gaga dragged years ago.

Nope. What got Gaga dragged was her attitude, when she proclaimed that she is "taking art into pop culture in reverse warholian experience" by incorporating some famous art pieces into her imagery what was just nonsense. Art was always in pop culture. Mona Lisa is pop culture. Sistine Chapel is pop culture. Venus de Milo is pop culture and so on and on.
Her concept was just utter BS, people saw through it and dragged her for being pretentious, thats all.
What artists try to state today is that they want to change how streaming works and make it profitable for themselves. Its more about money and thats why is Tidal dragged.
