He is for the most part. I mean he has other successful ventures. His sports thing, he nights clubs, Roc Nation, etc.
But even the big guys struggle with tech branding/marketing. I don't know why everyone is taking this like a big surprise. Microsoft and all its billions of dollars is notorious for terrible tech pitches (Windows 8, Xbox One, Zune).
I really appreciate his whole artist angle approach. And it makes for beautiful rhetoric, but he's gonna have to navigate the tech world just like any startup tech company. I hope he's prepared. Name-based marketing just doesn't fly in this industry.
He needs to get out of the "selling on a name" mindset that only works in music.
