America was founded on the basis of religious freedom, not religion. Therefore, government and religion should remain two separate entities.

This is so stupid that you've actually got to be trolling. Freedom of religion NECESSITATES freedom from religion. Otherwise, one could easily pass a law requiring all people to adhere to a tenet of some religion, that directly interferes with someone else's practice of THEIR religion. Pretty basic stuff.

I find it hilarious that the right wing here is always ******** themselves about "SHARIA LAW!!!" coming to the states/west, when they're too arrogant and lacking in self awareness to see that they've literally been doing the same to us forever. I mean, Rand is literally advocating for that in the quote, yet he and the people who probably cheered him on don't see that.

The country was not founded on fleeing religions persecution, the colonies were. Americans just thought they were so distant from England and saw themselves as a different people drove them to found the country.
