The lies. There's no way you can hear the difference with Beats as they cannot distinguish the difference. You're most likely experiencing the placebo effect and think you'r hearing a difference because you're being told there's a difference.
Not really but you can notice a difference if you own a very nice 2 channel system running you in to the $1000's of dollars. Just using ear buds or headphones isn't really going to make any difference.
