Right now it's only Spotify and iTunes.
And Spotify is getting really lazy. So considering I've been paying for premium for two years and the features are getting worse, I welcome a new service at that same price point of $10 (Tidal Premium) that could potentially offer better functionality, content, and service.
Competition is good for consumers.

Competition is definitely a good thing, we're lucky Apple didn't abuse their near-monopoly that much. Spotify already has good alternatives though like Deezer and Google Music, and there are other local services in each country. I've been trying Tidal and so far it's my least favorite of the four.
And the way they are marketing it is downright deceptive. Trying to get you to pay $20/month for sound quality that is not noticeably different. Saying it's revolutionary when it's really just another $10/month streaming service (of which there are many, as I said). Pretending they can pay higher rates to artists when that $10/month will still break down to less than a cent per play.
Good to have another player in the game, but having all these celebs pretend it's going to save the music industry is cringeworthy.
