So we were talking about what we thought about pushing music into this kind of boundary and someone brought up its a gimmick as if its a bad thing while in my opinion its not. Although it may be a "gimmick" (a lot of things can be seen as a gimmick actually) it depends on the situation if its "bad" or "good". Now for another example with Sia, she acknowledges not showing her face is a gimmick, but should be instantly consider it a bad thing just because its a gimmick? Discuss

In Sia's case it MAY be it...I don't think the mystery helped her significantly...I think Chandelier success was related to how great the song was and in Elastic Heart case it was the video

Sia's no face thing is a gimmick if she suddenly stops doing it like with her next era. For now, she has a legitimate reason to not showing her face when performing so I won't consider it negative. She has her reasons as stated in a recent interview
