Simon is the main brains on the judging panel and the reason people tune in series after series. I wouldn't complain with 2mil if I were Paula... it's not like she has tons of options, is it?

Well, it is exhausting. You might think its fun and easy, but the auditions are torture. You have to hear over 100,000 people auditioning. Yes, you have to hear every single last one of them. Most of them suck.

You apparently don't know the audition process. Here is a lesson in the audition process. Randy, Simon, and Paula see no more than 50-100 people during each audition city. They are first heard by another judging panel set by the producers of the show, then the producers decide who gets to go in front of Randy, Simon, and Paula (and now Kara). They choose the best (and the worst) to go in front of them.

Not really. If you watch on Oprah the behind the scene of Idol, it reveals that Simon and all the producers sit together before every show and decide what is going on.
