EW!!!! the ignorance you just named 3 completely different artists
3 artists without an identity. With slightly different backing tracks any of their songs could belong to anyone. They all make generic pop but that isn't a bad thing. Marina's album is a bop and I love Britney
Hopefully you were talking about EH. Because Froot is nothing dance pop.
Then what is it? It's pop hooks over synths and dancey beats. Not to mention Marina uses the same melody over and over on each song. The cowriters on EH did her well because it was less repetitive. Basically you get some great songs (Froot, I'm A Ruin, and Forget) and a dozen or so remake knockoffs of them.
So first she says she hates "****** American pop," but then she creates a ****** American pop album to gain popularity and success. And it worked a little, but Electra Heart probably wasn't as lucrative as her label had hoped. Then she cost them a ton of money by making 10 or so music videos. So at first, she hates ****** American pop, then she accepts it, and now she hates it again? Make up your mind.
And the reason she's working with David Kosten for the entire album isn't because she's making the music she wants. Truth be told, her label wouldn't let her work with better and more well-known producers who cost more.

And where did she first say she hates American pop anywhere in the quotes? Like I said in the other thread, you keep adding your own spin to her quotes. And now you're just adding your own "facts" and calling it "truth".

When she gave interviews while promoting Electra Heart, she said working with Luke was "refreshing for her as a songwriter" and that Electra Heart as an album is a "good representation of her as a person and artist." The girl is a walking contraction!!! She only says stuff when it's beneficial for herself and makes herself look good, whether or not she agrees with it or it's true.
Here's where she drags Dr. Luke and his various money-making pop tarts (around 2:10):
And in this one she states that she liked working with Dr. Luke and that Electra Heart represents her well (around 0:40 and 1:50):
The girl's music isn't all that bad, but her personality is so off-putting! And the bit about working with Kosten is just an educated guess...

It's just pure pop with little bit indie teas.
Except Froot and Blue, no song even has a dance beat. Just because they have synths that does not mean they're dance pop.

Why are you so determined to hate on someone that has no bearing on your life? You were spamming the album thread & now you're bumping this **** like anyone with half a brain can't figure out that people, humans, do in fact change their minds on subjects and you have no idea what she's experienced to trigger the change of heart. Marina is a person, after all, as are all artists.

If Electra Heart was more successful (bringing her radio play and breaking into the mainstream), her stans surely would have gotten a Teenage Dream 3.0, considering that Electra Heart was already Teenage Dream 2.0. The thirst for success was obvious, especially with her label releasing Primadonna as the lead. Since that failed, she has to crawl back into her above-it-all, "indie-pop" niche. I wish she would just admit that she failed to break into the mainstream, but she acts like Froot is what she and her label actually want.
Marina's said she wasn't happy as EH. She's said this for a few years now... nothing new. She still helped to make those tracks, so of course she likes them, she just felt the whole process was too generic. I mean she still sings Bubblegum Bitch and Primadonna... And she is a "true artist." Let me know when your pop girl writes a whole album solo and co produces every track.
You do realise Gaga did that with Born This Way? And my non-pop girl faves are doing it too! Buy Base by Jonghyun on iTunes, every song written and produced by him. My faves really slay!
