@ all the people deriding him for quitting only to go solo: what exactly did you expect him to do? Stick around in a situation where he is no longer happy with his job? He has every right to remove himself from a destructive situation and think about himself for once. It's more selfish of people to EXPECT him to stick around just to "please the fans" when he's already been doing that for the last few years. Who knows how long he's been unhappy? Would you stick around at a job you didn't like for another 6 months just to please your boss? It's not like he lied about wanting to take a break. He's still planning to chillax for a bit before releasing anything, so..

The fans who bought tickets will still go and have a good time. If they're fans of the band then they'll enjoy themselves regardless of whether there's one missing or not. It might be bittersweet, but Zayn didn't die. He's still here, he's still releasing music. Stop being overdramatic. The funny thing about this whole thing is that MOST of the people berating Zayn for leaving aren't even actual 1D fans (or are just Zayn haters in general) If you're only in this thread because he's relevant right now then please take several seats.

Zayn is my favorite of the group, but the problem isn't that he left. It's that he pretty much said he wanted to have a normal life at 22, slow down, etc, then all of a sudden, he's working on a solo album (allegedly).

So he's not slowing down at all, just doing what he was doing before, this time by himself.

Shoulda waited until the end of the tour. I'm shocked he's still doing music honestly, he just seems all over the place. I think the first album will start off well but everything else will end up tanking later on.

But did he say he wants a normal 22 years old out of spotlight life? I thought he wants to retire or go back to college or something.
