Anyways, I loved black music back in the 80s/90s/early 2000s, now it just went downhill from there sadly

Yeah i don't like you.
But it's true. Colonise our land, desecrate our women/children, pillage our supplies. It's been happening since slavery (haha oh yeah that little ting) and it won't ever stop.
Oh well, at least we have Rihanna and you don't. HAHA!

Yas. Frank Ocean and D'Angelo. But why is everything Hip Hop/Rap? I vote No, not really. No Michael or Bob Marley in that bunch.

No. White indie artists and Rihanna make the best music.

How are you gonna reply to your own post, telling yourself to stay mad?
Anyway, I think this is subjective. Everyone can be a critic.

And what does that have to do with the quality of their music?
In any case, art is the one context I can think of where color and race shouldn't be considered at all. The artists' personal backgrounds and experiences are important, but the emphasis should be on the product they create, not on their race.

Clearly. That's why whites get all the acclaim when they copy blacks see: Sam Smith, Adele, etc.

If you can't understand it when it's explained to you so eloquently, then you're clearly just a pressed idiot.

No, a lot of black people actually agree with Kali.'s point, especially the older generations. Most just plain hate trap music. And we'll only call you racist when you blatantly are or you do something that warrants it, such as those implying certain people look like animals for example.

I would also include Unapologetic and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Not a single one of those albums is game changer. Some are nice, but most just follow the status quo formula. The reason some of those albums in the OP are rated so highly is because they push boundaries, whether is be musically or culturally. Kendrick's album, for example, is him pouring his heart and soul out, and he challenges american society to look at itself again and address its problems, and he executes it with amazing artistic caliber. Every album you listed is for the most part catered to just having radio hits, pandering to pop. Cool, but not very special or ground-breaking.

Firstly Beyonce is the last generation, not this one. But in the last generation black people DID make the best music: Tupac, Notorious BIG, Diddy, Whitney, Mariah, Destiny's Child, En Vogue, Brandy, Toni, Babyface, Brian McKnight. They made great music with an element of class.
The black generation now include tacky illiterate ghetto trash like Nicki, Chris Brown and negative stereotypes like Kanye. A sad decline into music for the unintelligent.
|
The same could be said for the terrible white artists that have emerged in the last few years. Macklemore, Justin Bieber, Iggy Azalia and Meghan Trainor are worse than both of those artists you listed. Then you have people like Riff Raff with his cornrows, gold teeth and bling virtually mocking black culture. Yeah that's a negative stereotype.
