While I LOVE this song, it kinda throws the whole 'timeless' thing out the window.

I listened to this on my phone speakers earlier today and didn't care for it.

I'm listening to it now through my headphones and I'm loving it a lot more. It definitely is a grower.
To me this a downgrade to FourFiveSeconds though and I'm having a hard time seeing how this is "timeless".

I'm starting to see what kind of album she is probably going for: Indie and Experimental. She's also going for what sounds like purer vocals with little editing to make things sound raw.

Like I said, she didn't need a writer for this. It's sounds like improv but not in good way. If Pour it Up has a limited shelf life, this will get old fast.

I did like "FourFiveSeconds" when it was released and could appreciate what Rihanna was trying with that song, but "BBHMM" is so much more suited to my taste, it's way more instant for me. I am loving it, it's so big, especially the ending.

Not sure how BBHMM/45S are going to fit on the same album and still be cohesive, but Rihanna has never been one for cohesiveness on her albums.

45S and BBHMM are sonically different but they're both aggressive thematically...both about goin off on a bitch.....as long as they're not placed one after another on the track listing, it won't hinder thw cohesiveness of the album at all
