Management is now considering replacing exiting members of the band – one at a time – with younger and fresher faces and voices!
As our band is still very popular – and making LOTS of money – employing this strategy makes good business sense. There is absolutely no point in killing this cash cow and putting dozens of people out of work just because the original members got old or tired or screwed up!
No. 1D fans aren't going to randomly stan for a band called ONE DIRECTION with all new members. But if they want to replace Zayn and Louis with two newer models, that's cool
If it worked with Menudo, it could work with 1D. And the point isn't to get the old fans to stan but to get the new generation of teenage girls to stan for these fresher faces with a strong trademark behind the whole thing.
So they're just gonna switch the guys up - make them act the same fangirl bait lines, the same softcore bromances, the same "quirky" antics ie pulling down each others pants onstage, and just replace them each time the members get too old like pairs of socks?

They might lose old fans but that's going to happen anyway. Backstreet Boys are lucky to get House Of Blues sold out. But the same brand with revolving members might work.
I want to agree with you guys so much, but I also think it would be a difficult feat because despite the fact that 1D don't have too many recognizable hits: they're undeniably cultural icons. They might be hard to replace, put under the same name, and expect a similar fanfare. I remember Jersey Shore was supposed to use a new cast every season (think "Real World"), but the ratings were through the roof, the original cast stayed.
