A tour isn't just an artistic statement - it's also the premiere commercial medium for the modern industry. Excluding the majority of her big hits would be a poor commercial choice unless the next record is literally huge.

Not to mention that all of those rank among her best songs to date...

Like, I love her, but focusing on just the art she's most proud of or loves the most isn't the direction to go, especially now that she's in a much better and stronger state of mind than during ARTPOP. I want the confidence, charisma, and ambition of 2010 back, and I want her to be smart about how she works even if sales aren't her main focus.

The little artpoppers think that Gags can get rid of her biggest hits and perform a trash song like Venus. She will NEVER get rid of of Poker Face,Just Dance, Bad Romance, Telephone, considering her last ww hit was 4 years ago.

Her last hit was Applause and to some extent, Do What U Want. She has already cut down songs like Just Dance, Poker Face and Telephone. Bad Romance is the only song she still sings in full. Hell, Telephone became a remix dance track for the artRave. What makes you so sure she won't cut it like Lovegame?

Okay, hold up tho. Applause was a legitimate hit and about as big in the US as Telephone, don't do too much on ARTPOP. DWUW also did fairly well globally and was more legitimate than some of her other songs considered hits (Judas, for example, though its status is arguable) - most notably, it was top ten on two major US radio formats and in 17 countries overall, as well as Europe. Her last hit was really just a bit more than a year ago.

I understand where you're coming from in a way. But it's not like GoL said that she should perform all of ARTPOP either. He only specifically named Venus and that's one song out of many that probably mean a lot to her as well.

Personally I think there should be a happy medium. She's the artist and whether we like it or not there are going to be some things that she's just going to want to do that we wont really care for. It's not like she isn't going to ever perform her popular songs again anyway. (her team would never let her go through a set without performing Bad Romance) She OWNED Artrave like 2013-2014 never happened, so it's not like performing it would really do any bad. In fact I'd say the performance was one of the highlights of the artrave. I don't believe she should completely overlook ARTPOP by just performing Applause either. She takes pride in ALL of her work and that's what I personally love about her.

I didn't say that - that's twisting my words. I said performing the material she's most proud of isn't the proper focus. She can still do it, but she's still a highly-billed artist on a major record label and she needs to balance her favorite songs properly with her commercial hits in order to maximize attendance and marketability. She's still expected to do something and salaries of other people still rely upon these kinds of choices.

Another thing I've been wanting to say: she was perfectly in love with all her hits when they were released as singles. She claimed to LOVE most of them, said Alejandro was her favorite song on TFM and that she had fought for it, was proud of Bad Romance when it went Diamond eventually and while it was the most watched video in history. I'm not saying her attitude can't change, but it's certainly not like these are songs that she has any reason to dislike, especially when they're just as legitimate as products of her hard work and emotion as the next song she wants to perform.
