Not really. It's actually quite progressive, in the sense it's a show with a full primary cast of Minorities, handling stories especially pertinent to the Black community i.e. homophobia, mental illness, incarceration, wealth, absent parents etc.

I really truly fail to see why people are so against it. For years, calls have been put to increase the representation of ALL colours on TV/Film/Publications. It's actually happening and yet they're not happy.
