The Elusive Chanteuse had absolutely no promotion first week of release, anytime after, or even had a tour outside of Asia, which was a year after it's hit single. It had the worst possible set-up for an album, so no.
Madonna had the GRAMMYs a month prior, 4 days of Ellen, multiple interviews and appearances, and not to mention the touring announcement following the release + special editions, and ticket bundling.
Mariah also had no single @ the time of release. She had literally nothing.
