So should i bookmark every on in this thread when Tidal DOES catch on and slays? People act like at one point in time that all of these BIG services weren't UNKNOWN and had to build their fanbases. Like Spotify it wasn't the juggernaut it is today overnight
I'm excited, I'm assuming the quality is lossless? In which case it'll probably be the only way to listen to some albums in that format (i.e. Nicki's BMUS mixtape which is on there)

I think it will become great. Since it involves huge celebrities like Taylor and Jay Z , it will have a lot of media attention. Because of the higher, yet still manageable, and greater sound quality, it has that artificial air of exclusivity.
Think android vs iphones ,but without Spotify being more functional than Tidal

But Spotify offered something different from itunes and Google play offers the same as itunes but they aren't priced ridiculously high
Sure there are going to be ppl willing to pay for it because who's associated with it
As for me a college kid...im already paying for Spotify ($5), Hulu, and Netflix
$20 for anything is enough to turn anyone off just to listen to music...I said ppl complaining about Spotify's $10
I don't think they would release music exclusively on Tidal... it would not make good business sense at all. The music would still have to be released through channels like Amazon, GooglePlay, and Itunes. Most people would rather buy the music digitally somewhere else instead of streaming it/downloading it from Tidal after buying the $20/mo subscription.
I could be wrong though and we'll find out soon enough, but it doesn't sound likely at all.
