I feel like this is half true. On one hand, I think DFH could have been a monster follow-up to AATB. But then again, LAM made the top 5 and smashed as well, and that wasn't a particularly strong follow-up imo. Thus, I think it would have taken a bad song for Meghan to flop with her second single. The third single is usually harder to get a hit out of, just ask Ariana or Lorde. I don't think it's assured that DFH will smash, but there are excellent early signals. And honestly, the treatment given to DFH is nowhere near as bad as Tennis Court's treatment by Republic.
