What do you think of people who loathe their own race?
So, I met this Erasmus Girl from South America and we were talking about boys and so on. And when I said latin people are beautiful and I am jealous of their tanned looking skin. She went on to say, ugh, I don't wanna date my own race. I don't find them beautiful at all. I like white people like the boys in here and I was like What????????
So the stories you hear in ATRL, you end up facing in real life and I was genuinely suprised. What do you think the reasons for this self loathing type of person are? Inferiority complex, closed deeply rooted mentality, European beauty standards pressure or?
Maybe they're just not her type? It doesn't mean she loathes her own race . I know white people who are obsessed with and only date blacks, ya'll need to stop trying to find problems that do not exist.
Maybe that's just her preference. Sexual preferences are very different. It's OK unless she mistreats dark-coloured people in real life
But she was basically worshipping one race and downgrading another one. I was asking not even a single one from your race would you give a chance and she was no. Call it preference, I don't think so.

I know what this thread is saying, but that part is just annoying the hell out of me. Latin is not a race bby.
It has nothing to do with her 'loathing' her own race. She just has certain preferences. Yes, skin color is a characteristic you can be attracted to or not. It's an attribute just like any other physical trait; height, weight, eye color, etc.
Saying you don't find people of certain color attractive is different than saying you're not attracted to people of said color. Latter one acknowledges the fact that everyone can be attractive no matter their skin color but they just aren't your type. Simple as that.
If we apply this to genders you can see how it works. You can find girls attractive/cute/hot or not but you aren't attracted to them. You can find chubby people attractive/cute/ but they are just not your type... I wish SJW would stop perpetuating the notion that you should be attracted to everyone equally because if that were the case not a single person in this world would be single. But it just isn't the case.

No. If you've ever had a gay friend who you found attractive/not ugly but would not 'bang' because they were not your type you'd understand. In my native tongue it makes perfect sense. I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense in English. I'll try to clarify.
Saying someone isn't attractive, in my opinion sounds more like you're saying they're ugly.
Saying you're not attracted to someone sounds more like they're not your type regardless of whether they're (objectively speaking) aesthetically pleasing or not.
My family and I are all proud african americans. I think its sad when colored people are shameful for their own race though. This asian co worker of mine is so annoying, she's chinese and japanese but she tries to avoid being asian as much as possible. I told her to be proud of her race but she tries TOO hard to be white :wtf: Like she legit told me she only dates white guys and I told her she was ignorant because she's basically turning down every other guy for their skin color including her own kind "asians". She definitely learned her lesson though because her white boyfriend of 5 years dumped her the other week because he was tired of her denying her asian race and it turns out he was actually talking to a hot puerto rican blonde woman for the past year and he likes her more because she is a proud latina. Moral of the story be proud of your ethnicity or else it will bite you in the ass like what it did to my co worker. I think now shes being more open to other guys besides whites since they dumped her for being stupid.
Idk, i went from preferring white guys to preferring non white guys and now ive seen the light again and have love for everyone including the delicious white men
