1989 was not safe at all for Taylord. Everybody was thinking that she was going to flop or underperform. Her label & part of her team included.

She just proved everybody wrong (even some of us didn't think 1989 was going to do so good).

She changed from her core main genre completely. Of course it's a big risk for her & anybody else that is as big as her that tries to do the same.

The music itself it's not very ground-breaking, but she still managed to create her own little concept which was very cute too.

I remember when everyone was saying 1989 was going to be critically panned and her least successful album to date.

I think I put that wrong what I meant was like, PRISM is like a hollow, soulless Flo Rida-ish version of 1989. You can obviously tell they were tailored for the exact same audiences but only one worked out.

She was already basically pop with Red

+ doesn't change the fact that 1989 being considered a risk for her shows how she's the safest pop girl
