Did she lie? There's a huge difference between being sexual, and ones who are desperate for attention and whose whole image and worth revolves around selling their ass or another part of their anatomy. It's their life and career, but it's not sincere or empowering at all.

Women should be able to show as much or as little as they want. I'm empowered by any women who is bold and takes what's hers and doesn't worry about critics or whatever. And if they want to sell their anatomy that's their choice and since it doesn't affect me personally I don't have any problems with it.

What's so hypocritical is that Cheryl is exactly the same as the women she's describing, and her going back on herself and shading girls who are no different to her is insincere and not empowering.

People missing the point of what was said as usual.

She's not criticizing the women who choose to use sex to sell music, she's talking about the people behind the scenes, society, etc.

Society does tend to push women into a more sexual nature (and then tear them down when they do conform to it).

It is funny how people always drag women for choosing to be sexual but when a male celebrity is exploiting their looks no one says anything and actually PRAISE them.

I can't believe people are missing the point. There is a tasteful way of being 'sexy', however in some cases society and even the big 'male' label execs give you no option but to put on a revealing leotard in an attempt to sell music. The crux of this interview is about woman experiencing real difficulty in the music industry.
