An amazing song, underrated looks and a slayful time in Gaga's career? You could never.
How is it not real? It's literally got different vocals from her, that's proof enough. It's not been posted in full though, only high up traders have that.
There are several fake demos that sound just like her but aren't actually her, lol. Some fans have gotten really good at imitating her.

Exactly this. I mean, ARTPOP was really the only album that suffered from it because I think more of it was made from pre-made beats than ever before, but even so, she's been doing it for years. And yeah, you're absolutely right about GH, didn't he play her a hip-hop beat and accidentally slowed it down and she used it? I remember something like that
And yeah, Zedd and Madeon were so lazy it's unreal. I hate the way Zedd talks about her since as well, he always just seems to glaze over it, saying 'yeah I had a couple records on her album', like... Still like him and his music, it just irks me.
Calling Gaga's writing "lazy" is so strange to me. If there's one thing she's never lazy about, it's the writing. I think the issue is more that she chose to write in a different way. ARTPOP's writing is very metaphorical and clearly a result of someone on drugs who thinks they're making sense but actually isn't for the most part.
This exaggeration, I can't. How many times we have to stat that "Applause not being on the album", "I wasn't even serious about working on the song before it was chosen as the lead" and "The lead single was going to be another song" are half-truths and completely misleaded fans?
They're actually direct quotes, and I listened to the interview in question live.
I wonder how "Sexxx Dreams" would have done as a single in place of "G.U.Y.". I know Gaga chose "G.U.Y." for specific reasons, and it probably wouldn't have done much better, but the "Sexxx Dreams" sound felt and still feels much more current than "G.U.Y." ever did.

I still don't believe that Applause demo is fake. I know where it came from.
Oh okay, I accept that I was wrong then. And there's nothing wrong with Gaga's writing on ARTPOP, her fanbase and the success of Born This Way (it was a success) made her believe that she could write something metaphorical and challenging and change the world with it - like she did with Born This Way (the song). She just got very heady, and yes, the drugs definitely played a part.

Eh. All of her music has been written on weed or coke for the most part - but I agree she did get kind of inflated in her ego, in a way, and that was a part.
I kiiiiinda wish she would have kept the "decay of the blonde" ******** or whatever as the theme; her musings on the nature of fame are always incredibly interesting, and it's why I got into her.
Even Applause, as fun as it is to bash it, was a welcome return to the Fame concept for me and I loved it.

I guess we'll never know about the demo~
To be completely honest, I don't think the fans who criticize ARTPOP even know why they don't like ARTPOP. It's one of those things where everything they criticize is based on something that just isn't true (like lazy songwriting or "pre-made beats"). It doesn't mean their opinions are invalid, of course, just founded on something that's not entirely true.
I just think ARTPOP was doomed before it was even released, tbh. Nothing could have changed the way people perceived it or the way it performed. Maybe in the future we'll look back on it with a more gentle point of view.

Oh, speaking of 'Sexxx Dreams', I still don't understand why she changed the original bridge...

We were in the swimming pool
I was naked, so were you
And I wrote this song while we made love
Dangerous poetry rhymed with our bodies
And now's the time for the trial with doubts and drawls
That is some killer songwriting.
Just goes to show how insecure she was back then and how much she changed things.

The accuracy of this entire post. On the subject of demos, I really do hope ARTPOP gets the Rebel Heart treatment someday and we get to hear everything, because with the way she changed the hee-hees, the Sex Dreams bridge, the breakdown in Jewels N' Drugs, the Aura vocals, imagine how the rest of the songs may have sounded at some time?
It was by far her most interesting time writing imo. Some of the ideas that came out of it may have been a bit naff and disjointed, but they all had potential.
I'd still love to know if there was ever a studio recording of IWBWY and the acoustic opening of Swine.
The "GA GA" chants by the man in Bloody Mary & the entire into with "GA GA GAHOOOO" in a godly voice on Government Hooker really are THE highlights of the album.
The only two songs in her whole career that were done WRONG by not being singles. I completely get that they were victims of the circumstances the era unfolded but I will always believe that she should have gotten Sexxx Dreams or Gypsy out before DWUW, leaving it for winter

Ooh yay, an opportunity to do our daily "redo an era" thing!
1. Do What U Want
2. Sexxx Dreams
3. Fashion!
4. Manicure (if the last 3 work out well)
5. Gypsy (last singe of the era regardless of everything else, it deserved it)

Sex Dreams with original bridge should have been second single, with an extended version including the original and new bridge and beat break heard in the LQ leaked snippet, and a Rihmix to get the number one after a duo AMA performance with a Stay duet on piano.
Then DWUW for Grammys (and no solo version, thanks. R Kelly makes the song) and the same video. It wouldn't have destroyed her career at all if what we've heard is true. Like, literally.
G.U.Y. for spring (same video, that'll shut up the annoying ass Venus stans). Better promo though.
Gypsy for summer, with a VMA performance and tour video (that still incorporates a story and slayful looks. Make it like 7 minutes long with a narration etc). Put out an acoustic version that can carry it through during Cheek to Cheek era and keep her in the spotlight. End era.
And that my friends, was a lesson in how to make the album of the millennium sell and feel like the era of the millennium by your good sistren ELECTRAHEARTPOP.
