But it fits perfectly with the already-known fact that she wrote most of the album over beats that were already done, as opposed to organically starting from the piano as she claims to have written most of her past work.

I'm not going to bother finding the threads, but this stuff has already been discussed on ATRL. I know what you think, but I also know what has already been reported.
Also, if anyone will recall, we have that video clip of DJWS working on an instrumental with no vocals (one which didn't make it to the album), we have irrefutable proof that both other major producers on the record used pre-made instrumentals for her, and we have as I already stated Applause demos that would highly suggest that the instrumental was there before the lyrics (especially since a lot of the verse lyrics there are completely different, muttered, and very rough).

Well, most of the album =/= all of it.
She preformed acoustic version of Applause and it sounds very natural, something you couldn't get with MJH or Aura.

So we're going to magically assume that the one track we happen to be talking about is the exception to the rule? It may sound organic when played acoustically, but you could get that out of some other tracks on the record as well given that we're dealing with a legitimately talented performer here.

I don't think we're going to hear much from Gaga until AHS promo starts in September/October. She doesn't have much until then except the C2C tour and (maybe) a soundtrack song.

I agree that ARTPOP suffers from her writing over already made beats, but it led to some of her most adventurous decisions in her songwriting ever (Applause's chorus is a damn mess but so magical at the same time, she never would have done something like that from piano).
And take DWUW, DJWS sent her (I believe, I remember her saying this somewhere) a bassline and drum roll loop - so the intro basically - and she wrote a melody into it, and wrote the song from there. And that's her best song. So I guess although it fails sometimes (Donatella, especially), it definitely did work often.

It's a mix of both I believe. I'm like 100% sure that the chorus of Applause was the first thing that she had for the song, she then contacted DJWS to make an instrumental for it, then wrote the verses to go along the instrumental, then reworked the song entirely for everything to fit.
The tracks made by DJWS =/= the tracks made by Zedd and Madeon. Yes, we know that Donatella, MJH and Aura were written over an already existing instrumental. But working with Zedd and Madeon isn't the same as working with DJWS for Gaga.

She writes differently depending on the song. Sometimes she writes over pre-made beats, sometimes she doesn't, sometimes she does a combination of both. It's been like this since the beginning. It was just more noticeable during ARTPOP because Zedd and Madeon were dickheads and used old beats as opposed to making new ones for her like DJWS always does.
(I remember her talking about how DJWS came to her with the beat for 'Government Hooker' so I'm pretty sure she wrote over that too.)

The Applause concept demo proves you wrong, the pre-chorus is what she had consilidated first in lyrical terms, and even that was written to the instrumental she was sent (she cheers when she finds words that fit, and then repeats the over the chorus instrumental).
And she's literally said that at least parts of DWUW existed before she wrote any of it (on a flight on the way to Rio or something, I believe). But you do you sis.

Exactly this. I mean, ARTPOP was really the only album that suffered from it because I think more of it was made from pre-made beats than ever before, but even so, she's been doing it for years. And yeah, you're absolutely right about GH, didn't he play her a hip-hop beat and accidentally slowed it down and she used it? I remember something like that
And yeah, Zedd and Madeon were so lazy it's unreal. I hate the way Zedd talks about her since as well, he always just seems to glaze over it, saying 'yeah I had a couple records on her album', like... Still like him and his music, it just irks me.

Okay, I'm wrong. This last pair of posts of mine have been my DWUW era and now I'm entering my G.U.Y. era.

Just a heads up, I contacted PropaGaga about whether or not that 'Applause' demo y'all are using as proof is real and this is what they said:
So y'all might not want to act so sure about this whole thing.

Why would she have given special treatment to the B-Side that Jimmy Iovine picked out of the last of 40 tracks?

Actually, I don't think we would have noticed if Zedd worked on original instrumentals for Artpop. I'm sure it would have ended sounding the same

Even if the demo is fake, that means relatively nothing about how it was actually written and we could still be 100% correct .And if we're wrong, then Applause is just messily written on its own, I guess.

How is it not real? It's literally got different vocals from her, that's proof enough. It's not been posted in full though, only high up traders have that.

This exaggeration, I can't. How many times we have to stat that "Applause not being on the album", "I wasn't even serious about working on the song before it was chosen as the lead" and "The lead single was going to be another song" are half-truths and completely misleaded fans?
