But no, despite what you think you see on TV - the vast amount of real problems minorities face is largely underrepresented in the mainstream media.
And it's ok, it's just the words we use can sometimes unknowingly send the wrong messages to people. This is a prime example of covert racism. You didn't mean to say it like that - and you probably meant well - but to a passerby, it is registered with subconscious undertones. It's not your fault, we just have to be careful because the words we use to convey what we mean have enormous power. People don't realize that unfortunately.
