Sinead O'Connor will never sing 'Nothing Compares 2 U" again

After twenty-five years of singing it, nine months or so ago I finally ran out of anything I could use in order to bring some emotion to it. I don’t want audiences to be disappointed coming along to a show and then not hearing it, so am letting you know here that you won’t.
If I were to sing it just to please people, I wouldn’t be doing my job right, because my job is to be emotionally available. I’d be lying. You’d be getting a lie. My job is to give you honesty. I’m trained in honesty. I can’t act. It just isn’t in my training. I have ceased singing other songs over the years for the same reason.
No ma'am! If I see you in concert you better ****ing sing those hits! I don't want to be jamming to your ****** leftover album tracks that no one uses!
I get that. Just like when Madonna refused to do Like A Virgin or Material Girl after a certain period because she couldn't relate to it anymore. I actually respect that she chooses to just not do it anymore instead of just displaying fake emotion singing it on stage.
I respect her even more for this. Genuine. Honest. And it's better than having her sing something she doesn't care for; worse when you know it and she doesn't give you what you want out of it. I.e. Britney. You can tell she doesn't give a **** for most of her entire catalog anymore. The passion is not there.
Also, artists just get tired of performing certain songs. Especially if they've performed them often/for years.
