Sugababes have signed a contract with Jay-Z's US label Roc-A-Fella, it has emerged.
The trio, who finalised the deal at London restaurant Nobu last month, will still be under contract with major label Island Records but will start working with a new team.
The group fly out to Los Angeles today to start work on their seventh album and will be recording with producers behind some of Rihanna and Beyoncé's most successful singles.
Speaking to DS recently, band member Keisha Buchanan admitted that they did not want to rush the recording process.
"We want to... take about a year to write it. But it depends - if everything goes well and we get a massive single, then obviously we'll come back straight away," she said.
The group's last album Catfights And Spotlights, which spawned singles 'Girls' and 'No Can Do', failed to match the success of their previous releases.

I wonder how this next album is gonna sound now...one can wonder
I hope they do good in the US. I love this girls. "Catfights and Spotlights" flopped because they were so stupid to not release "Every Heart Broken", which could have been the biggest hit of their entire career.
Umm... Well, I'm really interested on see what happen to them, RedOne?... Looks weird to think on what will sound
At least they gave up with Catfights and Starlights I don't think it wasn't any song like single material IMO...
US needs some good girl groups to come and try... I wish them luck
I'd rather it was GA, but I'll settle for Sugababes as long as they can promise their new music is much hotter than anything on that Catfights & Spotlights mess.
