I understand it is a high risk situation but there should be other ways to handle things besides shooting an unarmed individual.

The Calgary Police is well respected and officer-involved shootings are very rare.

and I don't care how respected they are, they showed his family on TV and they were shocked that someone could have killed their relative like that, this is unacceptable, and now there is an investigation on this

I hate how people think a few bad cops = all cops are bad.

My step dad is a cop and he's a damn good one. He's been struck by a person driving an 4 Wheeler and didn't even draw his gun, but the public said 'he deserved it'. There's been times where people have drawn weapons on him and he's only used his fists to defend himself, yet people still act like he's in the wrong.

Its getting to the point where I wanna tell him to stop helping people. He isn't getting the respect he deserves so why should he bother?

So perhaps let's wait until said investigation is finished before jumping to conclusions? We don't know what happened there (other than its an officer involved shooting)? I didn't even know this happened until I saw it posted here, and I work right by that motel.

If the police officer is at fault, then hopefully appropriate action will be taken.

The Calgary Police are great. This is an isolated incident.
