Both are the best horror movies from the last years but Insidious takes slightly the crown for me.

sinister was far better.... all of the insidious movies have been so dumb... sinister tbh was no prize either but it was a bit better.

Insidious in the first half, Sinister more all-around.
Both are pretty mediocre though.

Insidious was nearly perfect
Sinister was decent but it dragged for too long and it relied on cheap jump scares, the tapes were the best part.

Sinister was scarier (I literally cried @ the car, pool + lawn mower videos) but Insidious is better

The ending of Sinister was scurry. The first half of Insidious >>>.
Insidious would have been great if the whole deep sleep world thing wasn't a thing imo. It got stupid after that.
Sinister just took too long to get into but the last half hour freaked me out.
Insidious had me sweating in bed whilst watching it. I'll pick that.

probably Sinister because the face of the killer was one of the scariest things i've seen +the 3 unexpected scary moments all of a sudden
