What's ya'lls opinions
I eventually later this year want to get a new laptop/tablet ( I already have an ipad 2) what's the best choice?
I want to use it for like all the usual stuff but one purpose is I'm low-key writing a novel inbetween work and having a social life so what do ya'll think would be better for that purpose?

What models do ya'll have and what do you personally prefer?

iPad + Logitech Ultrathin >>> cheaper and you can detach the keyboard when you're not using it

but the new mac is pretty but expensive

i like the macbook but hate the fact that i will have to buy a connector for basically everything...

yeah tbh you'll need to carry around that adapter port if u plan to use it like an actual computer but since you're just writing / social media-ing the ipad + keyboard isn't a bad solution

1.1 ghz or 1.3 for 1200 and more.... MESS !!!!! algo only one usb-c ¡???? MESS.... apple always over pricing everything.....

yeah ill probably go for the ipad as well and just wait for the next macbook models

ikr but it's pretty as hell and luxurious and to some people that's all that matters LoL

tbh me too. i hope they update the 15" macbooks because idk y they only did the 13" thats too small for me

Mac imo... My iPad is pretty useless except for reading on it

the ipad is much cheaper and the keyboard thing is actually cool! That would be more effective and save me like $800

Yeah writing does seem more practical on a laptop. This is such a hard decision

in college a lot of my classmates have a tablet with a keyboard and they do all their writing assignments on it

i think there's a lot of good writing apps and the keyboard makes it just like writing on a laptop. writing on a tablet on the touch screen is a no-no tho that's so inconvenient

plus you can detach it when u want to watch a movie or something and read it like a book

I don't see the purpose of an iPad. its just a really big iPhone without a cell plan. Macbook >>>
Because u can actually download and run programs on it.

MacBook Pro!

They are kind of hard to pit against one another, as I find they work so well together. The iPad is more portable, cheaper and has access to 4G/LTE, however, being confined to the apps in the App Store can be annoying. The MacBook, on the other hand, can do more and is more powerful (CPU, GPU, Ram etc), better battery life (though depends on the version), but isn't as portable and can get kind of annoying to carry around.

I personally would go with a MacBook but either of the two will get the job done.

Buy a MacBook. Since you're just using it for writing etc you can get the 13 or 12inch version.
iPads are pretty useless, take it from me. Unless you're past a certain age (like 40+) and the sight of computers outside your job sickens you.

iPads are nice but a MacBook will be much more practical for you.

I love my Macbrook Pro, some days on my iPad it gets so irritated tapping that screen lmao. The price for the macbook pro is worth it tbh.

iPad if you don't wanna like download stuff for sure.

I have a macbook air and I like it, but one thing I will say, though it's pretty anecdotal, the chargers for macs ****ing suck. Oh my god. And they're expensive

those who have the macbook, they're really like travel safe right/portable? like isnt both sides of it made of aluminium or something so it's tough af?

i had a macbook and 2 of my friends who have a macbook dropped theirs and their corners are dented but it still works

it's really light and portable though. especially the new macbook coming out is made for portability but sadly is too expensive for its performance and the fact that u need an adapter everywhere u go
