Ever since I got back from being banned, I have decided to turn a new leaf and be a positive member of society and ATRL. Let's talk about some happy moments that you have experienced growing up and continuing to grow up.
I remember a time when I was 17 and first got my car. I thought I was such a badass so I invited about three of my close friends to go to the movie theaters to see the last Harry Potter movie. (

) When we finally arrived to the theaters, I volunteered to wait in line and get the tickets. Ahead of me was this girl that was in my Physics class in High School who was apparently by herself. I felt so bad because I never saw this girl hanging around with anyone during school time and I wanted to be a nice person, so i invited her to sit with us when we got to the movie theaters.
At first, my friends were a little hesitant to befriend her because she was mildly autistic and was a little quiet, but they soon warmed up to her after we saw the movie and went on discussing it. I found out that she actually walked to the movie theaters (she walked for like 20 minutes to get there), so I offered to drive her back home. I could tell that she didn't want to leave so soon, so I decided to make a detour to the local Burger joint. We spent the next three hours reminiscing about our childhoods, growing up and going to college in the upcoming months.
By the time the night was done, she invited us to her house and we met her mom. I learned that her father had left the family just three years ago so she was just alone with her mother. Her mother was so happy to see that she made friends and treated us to even more food, but I was stuffed. We played some board games and all left after that.
She became a very close friend of mine for the next couple of years, we don't talk that much now but she definitely grew out of her shell and made some new friends in the college she went to. One night, she was drunk and confessed that she planned to kill herself after HP ended and that we saved her by being her friend. She said that me coming and inviting her to sit with my friends during the movie felt so relieving like when Harry got his letter to Hogwarts. I learned after that to always be kind to everyone, even if they're not necessarily nice to you back. You never know what secondary effects your actions will have.
What are your happy stories?
