Apparently they do since 21 is the biggest selling digital album of all time.

They've been apart for over two months now though. And it's not like he has any work related commitments to keep him London while she's in LA this long.

I do love announcements about future announcements about surprise releases.

That's true, it will be interesting to see how a surprise release or even a traditional release from her would do as far as first week numbers.

Artist who depend on huge single success, wouldn't do well with a surprise release like Katy and Rih, but Adele would probably do well.

I too am expecting a huge first week numbers but why everyone's so certain is a little worrying.

Adele debuts with 550k, with everyone expecting 1M+, how will people react? Flop?

I've always felt like she could surprise release, it would suit her tbh she was never really much about videos, promotion & **** + she is popular enough to do it and the demand for it is super high.

I think she'll be labelled a flop regardless of how much she sells, as 30 million copies (which '21' has sold) will be the benchmark which she has to reach in order for the next album to be deemed a success, in my view.

This happened with Norah Jones, whose album after 'Come Away With Me' sold (I believe) 16 million copies, and people were claiming the record flopped.

Adele is nowhere NEAR in the same position in her career as she was when she released 19. She's since had one of the biggest commercial breakthroughs in the history of music; her opening week sales from when she was a relative nobody are irrelevant.

It's not really a "surprise" release if we're told it's going to be a surprise release and it's coming at any time.
